Questions
Where does my portfolio link go?
Right under your name and contact line, so it's the first thing a client can click. Link three to five short edits, put your best one first, and check that the link opens without a login.
Which editing software should I list?
The ones the listing names, if you've really used them. Four of our 10 video listings named Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro, three named CapCut, and the motion graphics role asked for After Effects.
Should I list AI video tools?
Yes, if you've made real videos with them. One of our listings hires an editor to make AI avatars, images and voiceovers, and it names tools like HeyGen, Runway and ElevenLabs.
What do I put if I haven't edited for a client yet?
Edit your own samples: a talking-head clip, a product video, a short tour of a place. Put them in your portfolio and list the software you used. Four of our 10 video listings asked for 2 years or more, so start with the other six.
Should I send it as a PDF or a Word file?
PDF, unless the listing asks for Word. Keep your videos out of the file and link them instead. Our apply form takes PDF, DOC or DOCX files up to 10 MB.
