Upwork bills the client for you, and hourly and fixed-price contracts carry payment protection when you meet its requirements, such as logging your hours.
On a job board like OnlineJobs.ph the employer pays you directly. OnlineJobs.ph says it steps in on pay disputes and removes employers who refuse to pay. With an agency, the agency pays you under your contract.
